Life. Death. Eternity. For many, these issues inspire a wealth of questions and sleepless nights. Author Randy Alcorn routinely addresses these questions as he skillfully juxtaposes the desperate reality of earthly things with the beauty and hope of heaven. Randy is a rare phenomenon in the world of Christian publishing, the author of life-changing nonfiction titles, and the creator of best-selling, pulse-pounding murder mysteries. He is the founder and director of Eternal Perspective Ministries (EPM), a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching biblical truth and drawing attention to the needy and how to help them. EPM exists to meet the needs of the unreached, unfed, unborn, uneducated, unreconciled, and unsupported people around the world.
"My ministry focus is communicating the strategic importance of using our earthly time, money, possessions, and opportunities to invest in need-meeting ministries that count for eternity," Randy says. "I do that by trying to analyze, teach, and apply the implications of Christian truth."
Before starting EPM in 1990, Randy served as a pastor for fourteen years. His ministry experiences span the globe, from a church outside Gresham, Oregon, to the mission fields of China. A popular teacher and conference speaker, Randy has taught as a part-time faculty member of Western Seminary and Multnomah Bible College, both in Portland, Oregon.
Randy is the best-selling author of twenty books (over two and a half million in print), including the novels Deadline, Dominion, Lord Foulgrin's Letters, and the Gold Medallion winner, Safely Home. His fourteen nonfiction works include The Treasure Principle, Money, Possessions, and Eternity, ProLife Answers to ProChoice Arguments, In Light of Eternity, and Heaven. His latest murder mystery, Deception (a spin-off of the blockbusters Deadline and Dominion), is scheduled for release in April 2007.
Additionally, Randy has written numerous articles for magazines such as Discipleship Journal, Moody, New Man, and The Christian Reader. He produces the quarterly periodical Eternal Perspectives and has been a guest on more than 500 radio and television programs, including Focus on the Family, Family Life Today, The Bible Answer Man, Revive Our Hearts, Truths That Transform, and Faith Under Fire.
Randy lives in Gresham, Oregon, with his wife, Nanci, and their Dalmatian, Moses. The couple has two married daughters, Karina and Angela, and they are the proud grandparents of three grandsons, Jacob, Matthew, and Tyler.
