A perfect combination for the next generation of suspense lovers.Shaley O'Connor leads a celebrity's life on the road with her rock star mom. Body guards, credit cards, and limo drivers. What more could a girl want except the attentions of her busy mom and to find out the identity of her dad. Throw in the murder of Shaley's best friend on the tour, a stalker, and the paparazzi and you've got a seat-belt suspense. Though I guessed the murderer early on, the book kept me wondering if I was actually right and Collins threw in several twists as is her style. Shaley was very believable and the relationship between her and her best friend was authentic with their fun shopping sprees and teenage angst. I see this book appealing more to teenage girls who like a little more adventure and suspense with their books, than to the teenage male crowd. Though Shaley and her mom are not believers, the subtle message of faith and that God is always watching is woven throughout the book. With a satisfying ending, Always Watching leaves enough of a cliffhanger to make you want to finish the tour! |
