Reading this book is as romantic as the gondola ride, but beware, it might tip!

In 1893, Chicago hosted the World's Fair and Dinah Mayhew, seeking adventure, travels from Nebraska to Chicago to work at the Fair. When she moves into Mrs. Purvis' boarding house she is filled with hopes of finding excitement, new friends and her father. Before she even has a chance to settle into her new room, she meets Seth Howell.

Seth is a pastor to Chicago's lower class and after attending Mr. Moody's revival meeting, she agrees to help with Seth's inner youth city ministry. As Seth and Dinah work closely with the youth and see each other at their jobs at the World's fair, romance blossoms. Then Dinah's self-centered cousin, Gladys, arrives to step in and be a part of the city excitement.

And when Gladys' wrong choices climax with her disappearance, Seth and Dinah find themselves drawn into a nasty game of secrecy and deception. Romance must wait while they search for Gladys. Will they find her in time? Will Dinah become a casualty of the plot going on around them? Will Seth and Dinah's love grow only to be halted by tragedy?

Carol Cox wove an intricate mystery with the back drop of the World's Fair and the big faith of simple people. The characters are strong and real. Their lives draw you in on page one. The romance is sweet and makes the reader want to hug a loved one after the book closes. This book will touch your heart and challenge your mind as you try to solve the mystery and want to yell at the characters when they miss the clues you so obviously see.
