While transplanting a rosebush with Ethan Banning, the man Summer would like to share her dreams with, Summer discovers a hidden stash of diamonds, a rusty can full of cash, and a bloody gardening glove buried in the ground.

Hold up! Who would plant such a treasure at her house, and is the bloody glove a clue that might lead to a dead body? Even though Summer's candy shop is set to open, she feels compelled to locate the answer to these questions. And that's where the excitement begins.

Cynthia Hickey's mystery is a fast moving very plot intensive book. Summer is taken on one wild ride after another, often threatening her very life. This keeps the reader tuned in and turning the pages. Oh, and then there's the romance. You have to turn the pages to see what will happen with Ethan and Summer.

Hickey has also created a strong conflict between Ethan and Summer that ups the reading enjoyment. Summer insists on moving forward in the investigation no matter the personal cost. But Ethan has a different viewpoint. He wants only for Summer to be safe and he's often forced to come to her rescue.

Amy Wallace I'm the oldest of four children. My father's parents had eleven children and raised a neighbor's child. I have three step-children, one birth child, three adopted children and five grandchildren. When my father's mother died, the little country church where her funeral was held was standing room only with people peering through the open windows. I want to be like my grandmother. Loved by lots, speaking with a truthful tongue, and not judging a person by the outside, but by the heart.
