Ball's compelling characters and fast-moving plot kept me enthralled with this novel until the end.

As a firstborn myself, I can relate to Kyla Justice's sense of responsibility and propensity to overachieve. With both of those qualities, it's no wonder her construction company is successful to the point of being critically acclaimed.

But something is missing in Kyla's life... Can she find it by refurbishing a youth center in the middle of gang-infested slums?

Ex-soldier Rafe Murphy trusts that God has a reason for allowing him to survive Iraq. He just doesn't know what it is yet.

Gang violence, extortion, sabotage. Can Kyla and Rafe overcome the obstacles set before them? Or will they be caught up in a dangerous situation that could cost their lives?

Ball's compelling characters and fast-moving plot kept me enthralled with this novel until the end. Of course, her strong internal monologue and well-written dialogue helped keep me going, too.

Don't miss this thrilling installment to Ball's Shattered Justice series. Exceptionally well-done characters will have you pulling for them to overcome their hardships. Fast-paced scenes filled with tension will keep you on the edge of your seat. And Ball's carefully crafted romance between Kyla and Rafe will leave you drooling for more.

If you enjoy thrillers, you'll want to pick up this book. If you enjoy well-developed, sympathetic characters, this is the book for you. If you want a story to touch your heart, get this book.
