Review – Flashover

As Flashover opens, firefighter Ivy Beria rushes into a blazing building to search for victims and becomes a victim herself. Injured in the fire, she is sidelined until her shoulder injury heals. But when she discovers the fire was likely a case of arson, Ivy rushes in again to investigate.

Ivy requests the help of computer expert and best friend, Tim Carnelli to hunt down the arsonist. In love with Ivy, Tim readily agrees. He’s thrilled to spend time with the usually too busy Ivy and hopes as they work side by side, romantic feelings for him will develop. The story really takes off when Ivy’s friend Moe is linked to the arson, goes missing, and his only friend turns up dead.

Flashover holds page-turning suspense from the first page until the last. The romance between Tim and Ivy and Ivy’s struggle with her relationship with God will keep you reading to see how author Dana Mentink resolves the conflict. And if that’s not enough Mentink throws in a few surprises and twists and turns that you don’t expect. So if you love a good romantic suspense book, pick up Flashover and enjoy the suspenseful ride.
