This keeps the reader tuned in and turning the pages. Oh, and then there’s the romance. You have to turn the pages to see what will happen with Ethan and Summer.
Hickey has also created a strong conflict between Ethan and Summer that ups the reading enjoyment. Summer insists on moving forward in the investigation no matter the personal cost. But Ethan has a different viewpoint. He wants only for Summer to be safe and he’s often forced to come to her rescue.
