Vickie Britton and Loretta Jackson Interview with Susan Sleeman on May 25, 2020

Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
A. We are a sisters co-authoring team from Kansas. We write clean, fast-paced novels for a general readership. The first novel we published together was Path of The Jaguar. We were on a trip to the Yucatan and became so impressed with the Mayan ruins that we both planned to write a separate book using that setting. In the end we joined forces and have since written fifty-three co-authored novels.

Q: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
A. Both of us have known …

Jessica White Interview with Susan Sleeman on May 11, 2020

Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
A. I’m a hobbit. I love nature, but don’t like venturing far from home. I enjoy reading and word games. I collect books, blue and green glass, and llamas. I’m a first-generation Texan married to a sixth-generation Texan, but we recently moved to Oklahoma City for my husband’s career. We have two daughters, a dog, a cat and cohouse with another couple and their cat and five ferrets. It’s never a dull day in our hobbit hole we lovingly call Yuimaru (a place of gathering).

Q: When …

L. Marie Thomas Interview with Susan Sleeman on March 16, 2020

Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
A. I am a child of God, wife, mother, homeschooler and writer. I grew up in Littleton, Colorado, and our family now lives on land out in the country. My dad was an undercover narcotics agent when he met my mom while she was a secretary at the DA’s office in California. I grew up listening to crazy stories that most kids don’t hear about, which shaped me and my writing. Another thing that shaped me was the fact that after my family moved to Colorado, …

Jodi Artzberger Interview with Susan Sleeman on March 09, 2020

Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
A. I was born and raised in PA. In my early twenties, I moved to CA, then went on to live in Las Vegas for a number of years where I met my husband. We moved to the mountains of Arizona, adopted our boys, and now we live in the Colorado Mountains close to family.

While in Arizona, I was the director of Women’s Ministry for our church. I love studying God’s Word and teaching others how to inductively study as well. Teaching is something I love …

John J. Zelenski Interview with Susan Sleeman on February 17, 2020

Q: How long have you been writing and what other careers or jobs have you had?
A. I have been writing off and on since I was seventeen. I wish that I had taken it more seriously back then. As far as other jobs, I’ve had a few including, painter, maintenance man, care giver, cashier, store manager, waiter, service representative…does being a dad count as a job???

Q: Would you tell us about your current book release The Journal of Ezekiel Walker?
A: The Journal of Ezekiel Walker is the prequel to my first novel, Walker’s Vale and provides the history of the …

Terry Brennan Interview with Susan Sleeman on February 10, 2020

Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
A. After I graduated from college, I had a very short, ineffective stint as a teacher; walked out on a job as a salesman for pumps and fluid moving systems; knocked around at a few other, forgettable jobs … and then lied my way into my first newspaper job, covering high school football games for $10 a game. Do you have a car? Sure! But I didn’t. So, I hitchhiked to games (as many as five a weekend) and then turned in mileage, otherwise I’d be …

Hope Callaghan Interview with Susan Sleeman on February 03, 2020

Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
A. I write clean fiction books, and almost all are Christian Mystery and Cozy Mysteries. I’ve written more than seventy books (and counting) in six series.

I was born and raised in a small town in West Michigan and now live in Florida where shoveling snow is a distant memory. My husband, Mitchell, and I are the proud parents of three grown children.

When I’m not writing, I enjoy trying new recipes, tweaking them to make them my own, traveling (cruise ships being my favorite form of travel) …

D.L. Wood Interview with Susan Sleeman on January 27, 2020

Q: How did you get your start writing fiction and what genre do you predominantly write in?
A. I started writing because I love stories and wanted to be a part of creating them. I write suspense laced with romance and faith.

Q: What part of a writing career do you find most difficult?
A. The marketing, definitely! The work that must be done to make sure that your books get out in the world is often as consuming as the writing itself, and not nearly as fun.

Q: Would you tell us about your current book release A Criminal Game?
A: A Criminal Game …

Mary Alford Interview with Susan Sleeman on January 20, 2020

Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
A. I am a native Texan. My husband and I both have lived here all our lives. We’ve been married for 36 years and we have two sons, and three beautiful granddaughters.

Q: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
A. As soon as I learned to read, I was never without a book in my hand. I loved Nancy Drew, who first got me hooked on suspense. When I was a pre-teen, I discovered Phyllis Whitney and Victoria Holt and fell in love …

Donna Schlachter Interview with Susan Sleeman on January 13, 2020

Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
A. I live in Denver with husband Patrick. As a hybrid author, I write historical suspense under my own name, and contemporary suspense under my alter ego of Leeann Betts. I’ve been published more than 30 times in novellas and full-length novels. I am a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, Writers on the Rock, Sisters In Crime, and Christian Authors Network; facilitate a critique group; and teach writing classes online and in person. I also ghostwrite, edit, and judge in writing contests. I love history …
