What has been the hardest thing to overcome on your road to publication? The most rewarding? What is the most meaningful reader feedback you’ve received on one of your books? I was touched by your characters in Bygones – they seem so real! How do you get to know your characters so well and translate that intimate knowledge to the page? From browsing your website, it seems that your family is very important to you. How do you strike a healthy balance between your family and your writing? Has your family been supportive of your writing career? What authors and genres do you enjoy reading? Do you have a favorite book? You write in both historical and contemporary settings. Do you have a favorite? If so, why? Do you have any advice for writers seeking publication? How did you come up with your website slogan “gentle stories of hope”? Does it have a special meaning? Thanks so much for the opportunity to visit with you–I’ve truly enjoyed it. |

KIM VOGEL SAWYER has dreamed of being an author since her earliest memories. Seeing her books in print is sometimes still too good to be true. In addition to her writing ministry, Kim travels to women’s groups to share her testimony of God’s miraculous hand of healing in her life–both physically and emotionally. She sees a correlation between the writing of a good story and God’s good plan for every life, and she hopes her stories encourage readers to seek God’s will in their own personal lives. Kim has written two novellas for Heartsong Presents and the popular novel Waiting for Summers Return. She writes gentle stories of hope, offering her readers encouragement. Bygones is the first book of the Sommerfeld Trilogy.
