Jessica R. Patch Interview

Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
A. I’m a fan of summer over winter, fall over spring, oatmeal cookies, British TV, and relaxing in the pool with a good book.

Q: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
A. I have always loved storytelling, but in 2008, I began pursuing the dream.

Q: Do you find certain themes reoccurring in your books? If so, what are they and why? If not, what is the theme in your current release?
A. Forgiveness is a reoccurring theme. Not on purpose, but I feel like every single person has at least one person they need to forgive, so it’s seems common even with fictional people since they have real-life traits and issues.

Q: Would you tell us about your current book release Dangerous Obsession?
A: Dangerous Obsession is the last book in the Security Specialists series (but can be read as a standalone) and it’s Wilder Flynn’s story. He has a lot of secrets the onsite psychologist (and heroine) wants to pry loose, but he’s sealed up tight. Unfortunately, she’s being stalked which means he can’t keep his distance. ?

Q: Where did the idea for this story come from?
A. I have no real idea other than the characters just started talking and telling me what was going on.

Q: Who/what has influenced your writing career the most?
A. Tough question. Probably my husband because without his support emotionally, spiritually and financially the dream might not have ever become reality.

Q: Would you share with us what you are working on now?
A. I’m working on the 2nd LIS book in a new Storm Chaser series. It’s called Exposed Secrets (tentative title) and it’s set on the backdrop of a carnival and impending tornadoes. My hero is a storm chaser with a team of scientists and my heroine is his ex, and a deputy and photographer in her own right.

Q: If you were a dessert, what would it be and why?
A. I’d be a rainbow sprinkle cookie. They’re an uncomplicated, colorful, fun…a lighthearted dessert.

Q: Is there something about you most people wouldn’t know?
A. I’ve traveled to Thailand and rode elephants as well as held a snake—it took 20 of us to hold it! Ack! But it was fun.

Q: Is there a place you have always wanted to visit? A vacation spot, historical monument, overseas, etc?
A. I’ve always wanted to visit Italy and Ireland. And of course vacation in Bora Bora. I just love seeing new things.
