But that doesn’t mean either one of them are eager for a relationship. Both of them have had traumatic situations in their own lives to deal with before they can act on those sparks. And they both carry emotional baggage from situations in their lives.
Disaster Status is book two in author Candace Calvert’s Mercy Hospital Series. Somehow, I missed reading Critical Care, book one, but I’ve already purchased it and will certainly read that one, too. This is not a race to the finish, sit on the edge of your seat romantic suspense book. The romance and personal conflicts of the characters take center stage more than the disaster, but still, you’re sure to enjoy the book.
Calvert’s writing is fresh and the character’s are well developed so you can’t help but cheer for them when things go their way and commiserate with them when they don’t. And not just the main characters. Calvert brings you a whole cast of characters to enjoy getting to know. As a former ER nurse, Calvert’s medical expertise is also very evident, but it never overpowers the story. And if this is not enough to make you want to run out and purchase Disaster Status, the spiritual message is well integrated in the story and is never preachy. So what are you waiting for? Pick up this book that is filled with exciting drama, true forgiveness, and awesome characters.
