Review – Resurrect

January 16, 2013 By The Suspense Zone

David E. Stevens in his new book, “Resurrect” Book One  in The Resurrect Trilogy series published by Monarch Books brings us into the life of Josh Logan.

From the back cover:   Preventing his burning fighter from crashing into a neighborhood, Navy Commander Josh Logan ejects… too late.  Critically injured, he’s offered a new life and mission — exploiting highly classified military technology to stop a global cataclysm. The price?  He’ll be dead to everyone he knows.

A year later, he wakes up in a city hospital with altered appearance and enhanced abilities.  Guided by nothing but a voice, he must infiltrate the military-industrial complex, recruit a team and develop the world’s most powerful weapon – to protect humanity.  The more he learns, the more he questions who, or what, is behind his resurrection, as the clock counts down to the end of the world.

Action, adventure, jet fighters and a slight nod to the old TV series, “The Six Million Dollar Man”.  Strap on her seat harness and prepare for maximum thrust as David E. Stevens is about to launch us into a world of mystery, deceit and, literally, life-changing events.  Among other things going on in this thrill ride story there is a comet that is going to hit Earth with devastating impact unless Logan and his team can stop it.  Mr. Stevens barely gives us time to breathe as he whips us along from one plot point to the next.  He deftly explains all the science behind the events so that it is easy to understand and follow.  The bad news is this book eventually comes to an end.  The good news is there will be two more books to round out this trilogy.  All I ask Mr. Stevens is that you write quickly.  I can hardly wait for further adventure.
