A. I’m a writer, a journalist and the mother of two little girls. I live just on the outskirts of Toronto, Canada. Most days I walk the kids to school, then I walk Small Dog through the park, make coffee and settle down to write. A: I grew up in the home of a pilot. As a teen in the 1940s, Dad did odd jobs at Michigan’s Pontiac Airport in exchange for flying lessons. He always owned one airplane or another as I grew up.
