Q: How long have you been writing and what other careers or jobs have you had?
A: I’ve been writing since high school. I actually volunteered to edit The Open Locker, our school’s literary magazine and then slipped six of my short stories into it. In college, I started writing screenplays, which turned into novels during my seminary years.
In addition to writing, I’m the pastor of an incredibly normal-sized church in the capital city of a mitten-shaped Midwestern state.

Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
A: My husband and I own a beef farm about an hour from Atlanta, Georgia, and we’ve been married for thirty-six years. We have three children, two girls and a boy, and one grandson. I’m also a portrait artist and teach drawing and painting lessons here in the small town of Madison. I was raised in the big city but love painting, writing and living out

A: I don’t remember ever not writing. Ask my best friends in school. I was telling them all sorts of personalized stories back in the day. I was famous for it. As a career, I’ve been writing since 2009. I’m also a middle school English and social studies teacher, though God’s letting me write mostly full time at the moment and while only teaching one
