Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
A. I’m a wife, mother and grandmother. I live in the northwoods of WI on a glacial lake in a forest–and have two cats. But I love dogs too.

Q: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
A. When I was in the fifth grade my teacher told me I was a “writer.” 🙂

Q: Could you give us the highlights of your professional writing career including how you got your first writing break?
A. I started writing for the inspirational romance market BEFORE there actually was a market. I got my breaks when I attended Romance Writers of America’s conferences in the mid-1990’s. I met the editor who was starting up the new Love Inspired line and my book was #36 in their first full year.

Q: Would you tell us about your current book release Spring’s Storm?
A: “But what about spring?”

For over a decade readers have been asking me this question. They are referring to my small town suspense series, “Northern Intrigue” which features Winter’s Secret, Autumn’s Shadow and Summer’s End. I finally decided to fill in the “missing” season with my June release-Summer’s Storm.

Q: Where did you get your inspiration for Spring’s Storm?
A: I like stories that shake up my characters and reveal their true selves. I’m mean and force them to face their fears. My heroine Thea’s new next door neighbor moves in and turns her town upside down. Trace Della’s handsome, successful and committed to helping high risk boys. And he’s changing things in ways a lot of people don’t like.
One in particular.

Q: What is the main thing you hope readers remember from this story?
A: That you can love someone who isn’t perfect, especially family members.

Q: What inspires you to write?
A. Everything!

Q: Would you share with us what you are working on now?
A. I’m cleaning up and preparing to re-release my Women of Ivy Manor, historical series. I write contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and historical novels–I like variety and I’m blessed that most of my readers like that!

Q: When you’re not writing what do you like to do?
A. I’m a knitter and I love enjoying a walk down our road but only in summer and fall. My only winter sport is watching snow fall. 🙂
