Review – The Third Target

February 1, 2015 By The Suspense Zone

Every once in a while it is good to read something outside of our favorite genre. That is what I did when I read The Third Target by Joel Rosenberg after a friend recommended it to me. What I found is a book that has everything a good narrative should have. It is written from the perspective of J.B. Collins, a Foreign Correspondent for the New York Times. There are many characters involved and the story begins with the assassination of the King of Jordan. The setting is often hostile and in some places the book is graphic, perhaps too graphic. The plot revolves around evidence of a stash of chemical weapons. Knowledge of current events in the middle east make it easy to see were Rosenberg gets his inspiration from. After Collin’s second story gets published and a meeting at the White House the story gets more interesting.

Rosenberg is prophetic. He gives detailed descriptions and is comparable to T.Davis Bunn. ?

The Third Target is good for those who follow current events and are interested in Middle East turmoil.?

I would love to see a movie tie-in.

Review provided by Dave Baker:  I have a wide variety of interests that keeps me actively engaged in the community. Currently I work as a bookseller at Baker Book House where I served for the past 15 years. In my current role I am responsible for school accounts and diversity initiatives. In the past I have established partnerships with Youth for Christ and Young Life at the local level. Outside of work I volunteer as a youth advocate and mentor. As a journalist I write book reviews and interview authors. I am a graduate of Central Michigan University. At home I am married with four children.
