Cora wants what God desires for her life, yet she must constantly balance what she is going through with His plans in mind Her decisions are paramount, and could even bring grave consequences if she’s not careful. It may seem that the story mostly revolves around Cora, but Lisa brilliantly brings out all the characters’ strengths and weaknesses, and how they play into the realm of the whole story. This is a very realistic story. No bland characters here!
The Tour itself is exciting as you flow through the pages. The majestic pomp and circumstance, along with nature outings, are intriguing from multiple angles. The long flowing gowns emphasize and enhance, while the men are in full dress, bringing visions of grandeur to your mind. The nature outings tickle your nose with the floral fragrances and fresh outdoor air. The banter that goes on between the siblings and their friends is humorous and brings depth to the story. Even when tragedy strikes, the Tour is handled with boldness and strength.
I, personally, cannot wait to read her third book in this series, Glittering Promises, due out in September. It can’t come soon enough! I need to know where Cora finds herself at the end of the Tour. She’s had her hard farm life switched to a life of pageantry, but is it where God wants her to stay?
