A. I’m a stay at home mom and full time writer. I enjoy all kinds of activities including hanging out with my family, traveling, reading, and doing the girl thing once a week where we get together, eat and laugh about life.

Q: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

A. I don’t think it was a conscious decision. Ten years ago, I had a story in my head so I sat down and started writing it. Through that, my curiosity about writing and the whole publishing business grew and I started learning as much as I could about the craft. That led me to where I am today.

Q: Could you give us the highlights of your professional writing career including how you got your first writing break?

A. Like I said, I started writing 10 years ago. After a few rejections, I got the call in February 2007 that Steeple Hill wanted to buy the manuscript I’d sent them.

Q: Would you tell us about your current book release?

A: Too Close To Home came out April 1. Here is the back cover copy: Samantha Cash is the FBI’s secret weapon. Her methods are invisible, and she never stops until the case is closed. When missing teens begin turning up dead in a small Southern town, Samantha is assigned to help local chief Connor Wolfe find the killer. And he has two problems with that. There’s her faith–in God and herself. And then there’s the fact that she looks exactly like his late wife. As they get close to an answer, the case becomes personal. The killer seems to be taking an interest in Connor’s 16-year-old daughter, who thinks her dad is getting way too protective. Can’t a girl just have some fun? Too Close to Home ratchets up the suspense with each page, and will have readers cheering for the characters they love as justice is served and love grows even in the face of danger. Q: Where did you get your inspiration for TOO CLOSE TO HOME?

A: I was watching a movie on Lifetime television when the idea for the story hit me.

Q: What is the main thing you hope readers remember from this story?

A: That God is Love. And God is always there-even when it doesn’t seem like you can see Him or feel Him.

Q: What is your favorite scene/chapter from the book?

A: Hm?that’s a tough one. Probably the very end of the book when the bad guy enters the hospital room where Samantha is.

Q: What inspires you to write?

A. Reading other great books. And taking time to go somewhere by myself. I get a lot of great scene ideas while I’m driving. It’s kind of weird, but whatever works, huh?

Q: How has being a published novelist differed from your expectations of the profession?

A: I don’t know that I really had any expectations. Maybe just the fact that it’s a lot more work than I thought it would be! Meaning the marketing side, answering emails, participating in book tours, etc. I LOVE doing that stuff, but it’s very time consuming. I guess I didn’t think it would take that much time.

Q: What advice or tips do you have for writers who are just getting started?

A: Go to a conference. That was a big financial decision for me, but it really paid off. I learned TONS from that conference.

Q: Would you share with us what you are working on now?

A. I sold another three book series to Revell and am now working on the first book in that series. I also sold another three book series to Steeple Hill and am also working on the first one in THAT series. So, I’m pretty busy these days. But I like it that way!

Q: What is something your readers might be surprised to learn about you?

A. I’m actually pretty shy when I’m in crowds. I LOVE to meet and talk to people, but I’m more of a one on one type of girl or at least a small group. I don’t like large crowds of people. And yet I love going to conferences! I know. I’m just weird.

Q: When you’re not writing what do you like to do?

A. Swim with my kids, read, travel, play on the internet, go on a date with my husband.
