Lost Truth

Margaret Daley Interview

June 5, 2017 By The Suspense Zone

Q: How did you get your start writing fiction and what genre do you predominantly write in?
A. I was an avid reader and decided to put a story down on paper that I thought of. That was the beginning 40 years ago. I write Christian romantic suspense mostly now.

Q: What does your writing space look like?
A: I write on my laptop on the couch in my office instead of the desk I used for years because the couch is more comfortable. I have a ton of books on shelves and flamingos around the room. The walls are hot pink.

Q: What part of a writing career do you find most difficult?
A. The selling part of the career. When I first started out, I wrote the books, did a few book signings and answered letters from readers. Now there is so much more to do that takes away from the writing of the story which is the part I love to do.

Q: Would you tell us about your current book release Deadly Fires: Rodeo Knights?
A: Blurb: Second Chances. Revenge. Arson.
A saboteur targets Alexia Richards and her family company. As the incidents become more lethal, Alexia must depend on a former Delta Force soldier, Cole Knight, a man from her past that she loved. When their son died in a fire, their grief and anger drove them apart. Can Alexia and Cole work through their pain and join forces to find the person who wants her dead?

Q: What did you enjoy most about writing this book? Least?
A: The part I enjoy the most is plotting of the story. The least is the proofing—by the time I read it to proof of the story, I’m very tired of the story because I’ve been through it so many times.

Q: What is the main theme or spiritual message of this book?
A: Forgiveness and the importance of letting go of anger and forgive the other person

Q: Would you share with us what you are working on now?
A. Deadly Secrets, the 10th and last book in the Strong Women Series. Deadly Fires is the 9th book in the series. Short blurb for Deadly Secrets: Secrets. Revenge. Reunion. The past comes back to haunt Sarah, and she turns to the only man who can help her—the man she left at the altar.

Q: If you could have dinner with 2 people, who would they be?
A. James Rollins and James Patterson to pick their brains about their writing process.

Q: Do you have a favorite hobby?
A. Reading

Q: What is the most rewarding thing you have ever done?
A. Teaching children with special needs for 28 years. I learned so much from them.
