Lost Cause

Margaret Daley Interview

February 25, 2019 By The Suspense Zone

Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
A. I’ve been married for 48 years to a wonderful man. I have one son and two granddaughters who are growing up too fast for me. They’ll be teenagers before I know it. Up to this past year, I had three cats. We lost the two older ones this year. I still have one named Charlie (a female). I worked as a teacher for children with special needs for 27 years. I’m retired now and working fulltime as a writer. I’ve been writing for over 38 years.

Q: What started you on your writing journey?
A. The love of reading is what got me started years ago. I always loved to make up stories as a child so I decided to see if I could put one down on paper.

Q: What distracts you from writing the easiest?
A. Life. When you work from home, distractions often get into the way.

Q: Would you tell us about your current book release Trapped?
A. Second Chances. Cornered. Murder.
Sadie Williams receives a cryptic and terrifying call from her scared sister. But when Sadie arrives at her identical twin’s home, there’s no sign of Katie, only evidence of a quick flight. The puzzling situation turns potentially deadly when intruders storm the house. With help from Brock Carrington, her ex-fiancé and an ex-Marine, Sadie narrowly escapes.

Brock is an injured veteran dealing with PTSD. He’s finally piecing his life back together when his ex-fiancée needs his help. Can Brock reignite their relationship and find her missing twin before they’re both killed?

Q: Where did the idea for this story come from?
A. That’s a good question. God is my muse. Often a concept or idea pops into my mind. I start thinking about it and living with it. Sometimes it grows fast into a story. Other times slowly.

Q: Would you share with us what you are working on now?
A. I’m starting on my 7th book in the Lone Star Justice Series for Love Inspired Suspense line. I have a concept right now with a vague idea of what the storyline is.

Q: What kind of books do you enjoy reading?
A. Adventure, mystery, thriller, romantic suspense, suspense.

Q: What is your favorite food?
A. Pecan pie with vanilla ice cream on top.

Q: What makes you smile and/or laugh out loud?
A. A good comedy show like Home Improvement, which I’ve been watching reruns while recovering from my knee replacement surgery last month.

Q: If you were an animal, which one would you be, and why?
A. A black jaguar—sleek and beautiful.
